March 10:    Stazio Crit - CANCELLED!

2013-03-10

Unfortunately with this weather, we had have to cancel the Stazio crit. Instead, we'll be hosting our race on Saturday, March 30. The Stazio Ball Fields are already booked for a softball tournament, so instead, we'll be going back to our Research Park Crit for the 30th. If you've pre-registered, we'll give you the option of a refund, or moving your registration to the 30th. In the mean time, stay tuned for an updated site and flyer. We'll be hosting the same categories and the same schedule as outlined below.

The Course

A classic 1.1 mile crit course with 4 fast sweeping turns - though more technical than our old research park crit. There is also a 62-foot hill that will wear you out, it's going to be a great test of early season fitness. Here's the Strava Segment

Directions

Ride your bike! You can take the Boulder Creek Path east to the Goose Creek Greenway, and follow signs to the Stazio Ball Fields. If you opt to drive, come from 63rd and Arapahoe, drive north until the road closure. Wait for the officer to wave you in to the parking lot. Registration is by the Start/Finish about half-way around the course. DO NOT enter from Valmont, cars will be turned away.

Other Details

USAC Permit 2013-978. USAC licenses and BRAC memberships are required. USAC 1-Day licenses are $10, and BRAC 1-day memberships are $5. Medical support provided by the University of Colorado Boulder.

No timing chips will be used this year. As usual, there is a 15-minute protest period after results are posted (at the registration area). Prizes and results are final after that. Free laps till 6 laps to go, wheels in - wheels out.

As you can see, we've adjusted the schedule from last year. All of the categories filled to capacity, and there were some complaints about the Women's 4's going at 8am with the Junior 15-18, and the Men's 3's having the option of crushing the souls of the 4's and 5's, or suffering with the P12. Hopefully this year's schedule is an improvement, and leaves enough room before categories fill up. Let us know your thoughts either at registration or by email.
